中文摘要 | 石英光纖已經是今日不可或缺的傳輸媒體,而石英玻璃的強度受其塗上之樹脂被覆層所影響。被覆層和石英光纖間之黏著姓越佳,則被覆對石英光纖的保護效果越好,石英光纖受環境因素如溼度、溫度等的影響。但黏著性好,相對的外被剝離不易,會影響接續時的速度。故本研究主要為建立一「被覆剝離力」(Strip Force)測試系統,並篩選出影響測試數據之因素,找出適當之測試方法,以供研究光纖長期安定性時,測試其被覆層機械性質之用。此外,市內中繼或長途線路所採用之充膠單模光纜,均將光纖浸於防水混合物內,本研究之另一重點卽為探討光纖被覆浸膠熱老化後,其被覆剝離力之變化趨勢和光纖強度之相關性,以做為預測充膠單模光纜長期可靠性之依據。實驗結果顯示,光纖平均被覆剝離力,隨拉速、光纖廠牌、剝除工具的不同而異。僅熱老化六個月,並不會使光纖之抗張強度及被覆剝離力降低,但浸膠熱老化,則會促使此二項機械性質下降,其下降之趨勢受溫度影響而定。 |
英文摘要 | The strippability of coating from optical fibers are characterized before and after the fibers were aged in water-proofing jellies at elevated temperatures. It is found that the strip force profile from a 30mm long stripping length showed either a peak-like or a plateau-like profile. Strip forces that adopted from the peak force (maximum) or from the overage of the plateau region are compared and discussed. They represent different stripping mechanisms associated with the fibre coatings during stripping and can be used as the measure of the coating strippability and the coating degradation resistance. Results shows that the strip force is sensitive enough to be distinguished among different fibers from different manufactures and different fabrication conditions. For the same fiber, the strip force varies when the applied stripping tool or stripping rate changes. In addition, upon aging, the strip force increases initially due to the heat induced post-curing of coating, and then decreases due to the oxidative degradation of coating or the jelly softening effect. It is proposed that when reporting a so called strip force, one should indicate whether it is from the peak force or the average of the plateau region. Also, the stripping tool and stripping rate should be included as well. |
