英文摘要 | Technical education is a technology-oriented subject matter. As the technology doubles every decade, it is obvious that technical education program isdefinitely suitable for the needs of handicapped people, especially for the deaf.This report would attempt to cover how the deaf individual was rehabilitated sothat he (she) might at least provide for himself (herself). Moreover, after received the technical training program they will be one of the major productiveforces in the production line of manufacturing. The problems of this study were to determine the role technical educationcan play in deaf education and to formulate an approach that would be helpfulin meeting the needs of the deaf students. The purposes to pursue this study were (1) to analyze and compare thetechnical skill and the related knowledge of the deaf students with the hearing students and (2) to study some of the existent technical education programsnow being offered to several schools for the deaf. There were two hypotheses centered in this research:First Hypothesis Ho : The group of hearing students would not understand and obtain better scores in the writing test of technical education program than that of the deaf students. Ha : The group of hearing students would understand and obtain better scores in the writing test of technical education program than that of the deaf students.Second Hypothesis Ho : The group of hearing students would not design and make better project in the project making of technical education activities than that of the deaf students. Ha : The group of hearing students would design and make better project in the project making of technical education activities than that of the deaf students. The statistical technique used for this study was the Wilcoxon's Matched Pairs Signed-Ranks Test. The 0.05, non-directional statistical significance level was used to test the hypotheses. The conclusions formulated from the analysis of data collected through this research indicated that: 1 .The deaf students, either male or female, were on the same level of technical skill and knowledge as the hearing students. 2.1n a deaf group, abilities ranged along the same scale, from very high to very low, as did those of a hearing group. Therefore, a teacher must allow for in dividual differences.3.The technical education program for deaf students would be the same as that for hearing children.4.Objectives of technical education for deaf class should be the same as those in a regular hearing class. |
