英文摘要 | Oxygen and carbon isotopic compositions have been determined for three fossil molluscan shells (Corbicula subsulcata) from the Yuanshan Shell Mound, Taipei, Taiwan. The δ�X O values show ranges from -9.38% to -4.45% and δ�C C values from -9.85% to -3.75%, respectively. The stable isotopic data with �� C dating results of C. subsulcata indicate that these fossils lived during late Holocene (3800 years ago) and in an inland river environment with great temperature fluctuations. Apparently these fossils inhabited shallow sandy bottoms and had an average life span of about 4 years. These environmental and ecological characteristics suggested by stable isotopic compositions of C. subsulcata, which are almost extinct in Taiwan, are in accordance with their living counterparts. |
