英文摘要 | In this paper, we present an SDH planning system that implements a method to plan SDH network architecture and its evolution. This system consists of two main parts, one subsystem to plan the architecture, and the other one subsystem to plan its evolution. To plan an SDH network, first the architecture planning subsystem is used to select the architecture that meets constraints specified by the user, the network topology, and requirements of survivability. Then its various algorithms are used to find feasible solutions to apply architectures in varied parts of the integrated network. Finally, the cost is calculated and the network survivability is analyzed to find the installed first cost (IFC) and the measure of survivability of each plan and the determine the most appropriate network architectures. After the goal network architecture is determined by the architecture planning subsystem, the evolution planning subsystem is used to formulate an evolution plan that identifies the process, including order and timing, to evolve the existing network to the goal network architecture. This system has been used to plan SDH network architecture and evolution for Business Groups of Chunghwa Telecom Co., LTD. |
