英文摘要 | Investigation on the percentages of corn planthoppers (Peregrinus maidis)transmitting maize stripe virus in the field and latent periods for symptom appearance were done in Taichung City during 1987-1988. Seasonal fluctuations of viruliferous vectors showed difference among maleadults, female adults and nymphs, but all showed 0 at January 29, while male andfemale adults also showed 0 at June 9 and June 24. In spite of the difference oftransmission abilities of male adults, female adults and nymphs, they all reacheda peak (21.2) at October 21 and the lowest percentage (0) at January 29. Therewas no relationships between the transmission abilities of vectors and climaticfactors. Average latent periods for symptom appearance were different for male adultsshowing 32.7 days at February 29, female adults showing 40 days at July 15, andnymphs showing 36 days at December 11, while all showing 32 days at July 15.Except for February 29, too high or too low temperature would make latent periodsbecome longer. Sunlight and rainfall seemed showed no effect on latent periods. |
