中文摘要 | 為了讓森林能夠永續,土壤的品質-土壤能夠支持植物生長的潛在的能力-必需維持。本研究在檜木天然下種更新林與檜木人工林下共採集5個代表性土壤樣體,探討2種檜木林下土壤的特性與分類,以及由土壤形態特徵與土壤理化性質中選擇適當的土壤品質指標,藉以評估棲蘭山區檜木林下土壤的品質,以作為棲蘭山區檜木林永續經營管理的參考與依據。研究結果指出:5個土壤樣體分類為極育土(Ultisols)與弱育土(Inceptisols)兩個土綱。本研究選擇包括有機質層的覆蓋厚度、E層的厚度、質地(砂粒、坋粒與黏粒)與有機碳的含量等6種土壤性質,做為2種檜木林下土壤品質的評估指標。土壤品質指標的選擇需要大量資料庫的建立與分析,而門檻值(threshold)的訂定,更需要合併考量地上部的植生生長與地下部的土壤資料,並在獲得專家學者一致的共識之後,再提出適當的數值作為檜木林永續經營管理的參考。 |
英文摘要 | For the sustainability of foresty, soil quality, the potential ability of soil to support plant growth, must be maintained. In this study, totally five representative soil pedons were selected in cypress natural regeneration forest and in cypress plantation forest. The objectives of this study were to examine the soil characteristics and classification in different cypress forest stands, and to investigate suitable soil indicators from soil morphological and physiochemical properties for evaluating the soil quality of cypress forest in Mt. Chilan. The results of this study also could be the reference and basis of sustainable management of cypress forest in Mt. Chilan. The analytical results of this study showed that the selected five soil pedons were classified into two soil orders including Ultisols and Inceptisols. Six soil characteristics, including thickness of organic layer and E horizon, fraction percentage of sand, silt, and clay, and soil organic carbon content, were selected as indicators of soil quality assessment in two cypress forests. In conclusion, the establishment and analysis of soil quality indicators indeed need a great quantity of databases. In addition, the threshold of soil quality indicators need to merge considering above-ground vegetation growth and underground soil data, and after obtaining the consensus of experts, we can propose the appropriate value as a reference for cypress forest sustainable management. |
