英文摘要 | A reversible adhesion of bacteria to solid surface is modeled stochastically. Two types of operating condition have been considered: (i) a batch or closed system and (ii) a system which is open with respect to bacterial cells. A diffusion layer is assumed to exist between the bulk phase and the solid surface; cells need to pass through this layer before they attach to the surface. The applicability of the model proposed is verified by fitting it to the available experimental data. |
