| 英文摘要 | It is known that testosterone can be aromatized into estradiol and that progester one has facilitatory effects on both male and female sex behaviors in estrogen primed female guinea pigs. Therefore, it can be inferred that progester one would also have facilitatory effects on bisexualbehaviors in testosterone primed female guinea pigs. Nine female guinea pigs were ovariectomized and received testosterone propionate treatment for 40 days. During this period behavior observation was conducted once every week. On the day of observation, androgen treatment was with-drown and half of the subjects received progesterone injection instead. The results revealed that progesterone did have facilitatory effects on female sex behavior (lordosis) and male sex behavior (purring, circling, and sniffing) in these testoster one propionate primed female guinea pigs. Therefore, aromatization hypothesis was supported by this study. Possible underlying neural mechanism was discussed and a controversial issue was raised. |
