英文摘要 | The effects of electrical or chemical stimulation of the 5-HT cell bodies near the ventrolateral surface of the medulla oblongata on cardiovascular functions were assessed in rats under pentobarbital sodium anesthesia. Electrical stimulation of or administration of glutamate (an excitatory amino acid) into the medullary region an increase of mean arterial pressure, but no significant change of heart rate. On the other hand, administration of several inhibitory amino acids (such as taurine, GABA and glycine) into the same site caused a decrease in both mean arterial pressure and heart rate. In addition, reflex bradycardia was induced in rats by intravenous infusion of epinephrine (1.25-5.0 μg/kg, i.v.). It was found that electrical stimulation of or administration of glutamate into the same site, although causing no change in the epinephrine-induced pressor effect, did reduce the epinephrine-induced reflex bradycardia. However, pretreatment of the rats with either taurine, GABA or glycine caused an enhancement in the epinephrine-induced reflex bradycardia. The results suggest that these amino acids may act through the so-called bulbospinal serotonergic pressor pathway to influence cardiovascular control in rats. |
