英文摘要 | This survey focuses on the knowledge and attitudes of the public on cancer-related diseases in Taipei City, and tries to find the factors which influenced the knowledge and attitudes of the cancer-related diseases. Totally 522 households were sampled from 16 Districts of Taipei City at multiple-stage random sampling. The head of family was directly interviewed by well trained interviewer. A structured questionnaire was used for interview. The main findings include: 1. Mean of the knowledge of the public on cancer-related diseases is 42.32 (out of 60) with 6.95 of standard deviation. Mean of the attitudes of the public on cancer-related diseases is 32.61 (out of 40) with 4.22 of standard deviation. The knowledge and attitudes is significantly and positively correlated (r=0.3692 tr=9.84; p<0.005). 2. Age, education, socioeconomics and occupation all appear to be the determinants of the knowledge and attitudes of the cancer-related diseases. Education seems to reflect as the main factor which influences the knowledge and attitudes of the public on cancer-related diseases. The result of this study may have implication to a preventive education program of cancer control in the future. |
