| 英文摘要 | Improvement in public health and nutrition and the development of antituberculous drugs have produced a decline in the incidence of tuberculosis of bone and joint. Spinal tuberculosis is the most common and the most dangerous form of skeletal tuberculosis. It accounts for about 50% of all cases of skeletal lesion in all series. From Jan. 1968 to Dec. 1977, 154 cases of bone and joint tuberculosis were admitted to our section. 99 cases (64.2%) were spinal tuberculosis. The incidence has decreased in the last ten years. Most of the lesions were located between T7 to L5. In the non-paraplegic patients, L4 and in the paraplegic patients, T8 was the most common site of involvement. The number of affected vertebrae were usually two to four. 53.6% of the patients were associated with other tuberculous lesion in the body. 29.3% of these patients suffered from paraplegia. INH, EMB and Rifampin are the first choice for anti-tuberculous drugs in our series. The puposes of surgical treatment are a). evacuation of pus, necrotic tissue and sequestra, b). fusion for permanent fixation, c). decompression for Pott's paraplegia. The end result of treatment of spinal tuberculosis in our series was satisfactory. |
