英文摘要 | Vocational quidance is one of the most important parts of the total guidance program. An effective guidance for the middle school students will facilitate their vocational development, will thoroughly utilize man power. Yet, the prevailing vocational guidance here has long been facing two great problems: first, we are in need of a theoretical basis which can lead out guidance practice; secondly, there are some practical problems on the way, preventing it from further development. This thesis has two points in view for my discussion. In one side, I mean to present a theory of vocational guidance which is available in deciding the principle and method of guidance, while, on the other hand, I attempt to analyze the problems steming from vocational guidance and trying to find a resolution to it. The vocational development is a life-long process, presenting the result of an interaction between personality and society. Each person is heavily influenced by his vocational development in his vocational choice which, once settled, will exert influence on the following vocational development. The predication of one’s job satisfaction most depend on the adaptability of one’s ability, interest and personality traits to his vocation. The most important thing in helping the clients to choose a vocation is to let them understand themselves and the occupations. The interest of the middle-school students is differentiating and they are beginning to sense the meaning of their jobs. By means of vocational exploration to help students to know occupations and their own interest and ability will be something good for their vocational development. Besides, there are many other ways in achieving this target, namely, vocational counseling can make the vocational planning easier; can help the students learn vocational skill; can forge a correct idea about job. Usually, a middle school graduate will have a span of sufference and struggle after their school career. Vocational guidance in middle school must, by means of follow-up study, research for the vocational development or vocational adjustment of the graduates, continue to offer assistance. The problems in vocational guidance result from two facts: the one is traditional idea about the intellectuals; the other is the deficiency of counselor. The former pushes the intellectuals to take up endless schooling; the latter makes the vocational guidance mortally hard to step forward. Therefore, as we want to have the -middle school vocational guidance perfectly established, try to change the social opinion, and moreover, to hasten the training of counselor, and sti11 finally, to enhance the contents of vocational guidance. In this thesis, I have pointed out some points in practical services, and wish that they may serve as a hint in establishing a perfect vocational guidance for the students in the middle schools. |
