英文摘要 | The main purpose of this study is to identify determinants of teacher morale. The subjects are 601 teachers sampled from urban and rural elementary schools in Taiwan. The procedures of this study include the review of relevant literatures and a questionnaire survey. Based on the findings of this study, the following conclusions are made: 1)Teacher morale is not determined by one factor, but by a constellation of factors. In addition to salary and benefits, principal1eadership, supervision, communication, community background, and. working environment are the other factors that affect teacher morale. 2) All the relationships between the teacher morale and the five factors presented in this study are significant. The correlations rang from 57 to 668 3) The contemporary conditions of the five factors in the elementary school are not good enough to stimulate of maintain high teacher morale. 4) School principal is the most important morale-builder of school teacher. |
