| 英文摘要 | This study was to investigate the influences of family and parents on the education of gifted children. Special consideration was given to the following subordinate problems: (1) to deduce the influence of family on gifted children from an analysis of relevant theories; (2) to investigate gifted children’s home backgrounds and parental attitudes toward education; (3) to analyze the case records of gifted children; (4) to provide ways of cooperation between parent and teacher. The procedures of this study were: (1) the related literatures were reviewed; (2) a questionnaire survey was given, and (3) a case study of gifted children was undertaken. The subjects were sampled from junior high Schools in Taipei. Based on the findings of this study, the following are the major conclusions: (1) Education for gifted children needs to begin in early family life. (2) Adequate parental attitudes toward education are development of gifted children. (3) Home backgrounds of gifted children are superior to those of general ability children. (4) Parents of gifted children still have heavily symbolic value in education. (5) Understanding of the characteristics of gifted children’s parents is needed. (6) Cooperation between family and school should be strengthened. |
