英文摘要 | Study was made to determine the effect of feeding petroleum yeast as a substitute for soybean cake and fish meal in diets on growth rate, feed conversion and carcass quality of the broiler chicks. Three hurdreds and sixty day old broilers were divided into nine treatments with 20 males and 20 females each treatment. The chicks in treatment A received a diet containing soybean cake 26% fish meal 8% as the main protein source for control ration. While treatments B. C. D. E. One half or all of the soybean cake or fish meal, Treatments F. G. H. I. All of the soybean cake and fish meal, all of the soybean cake and one half of the fish meal, all of the fish meal and one half of the soybean cake, or one half of the soybean cake and fish meal in the control ration was replaced by petroleum yeast on the crude protein content basis respectively. Body weight of each chick was collected at intervals of two weeks throughout eight weeks of the feeding test. Feed consumption records were also kept on a pen basis. At the completion of the feeding test. The chicks in treatments A.F.I. Ten males and ten females from each of the three treatments were sacrificed for carcass study. The results were given in tables 2 to 5 respectively. The data indicated that the chicks fed diets containing up to 15 percent petrolenm yeast grew as well as those fed the control diet. Body weight and feed intake were significantly reduced when 32 percent petroleum yeast incorporated in the diet. However, there was no ill effect on dressing percentage and carcass quality including nutrient composition of the muscle tissues and pathological examination of its internal organs. |
