英文摘要 | In the prevous study (3) we concluded that temperature (constant day and night temeperatures) at reproductive stage affected the grain yield of Chia-nan 8 rice plant significantly. Rice plants grown under controlled temperatures of 25℃ and 30℃ with a natural photoperiod at reproductive stage would obtain high grain yield. So far, we do not yet know whether or not temperature at vegetative stage affects grain yield of rice plant. We also do not know if there is any relation between temperatures at vegetative and reproductive stages in affecting grain yield. In order to solve all these problems, the present experiment was designed. This experiment was conducted at Phytotron of Taiwan Agriculture Research Center stated in October, 1970 and completed by Aprile, 1971. Different temperatures treated at different growing stages of rice plant were showed in Table 1. There were 3 Wagner's pots (1/2000 are) in each treatment. Each pot with three rice plants recieved 1g of N, P and K, respectively. Plant height, number of tillerings and number of green leaves were investigated periodically from the 45th days vegetative stage to panicle formation stage. Data collected were air dry grain yield, number of panicles, weight and length of panicles, weight and number of grains, weight and number of fully developed grains, and percentage of weight and number of fully developed grains. Results obtained from this experiment were as follows: 1. We confirmed the results of previous study that the grain yield of rice plant was considerably increased when plants were grown under controlled temperatures of 25℃ and 30℃ at rproductive stage, especially at the period from panicle formation stage to dough stage. (Table 2). 2. It was found that temperature at vegetative stage also affected the grain yield. Maximum grain yield might be reached when temperatures at both vegetative and reporductive stages were 25℃ and 30℃. High grain yield under high temperatures (25℃ and 30 ℃) might be due in part to high percentage of weight and number of fully developed grains (see Table 2). 3. Results showed that the days required for rice development were controlled by temperatures at both vegetative and reproductive stages (see Table 3). 4. Temperature affected the number of green leaves, but no correlation seemed to be found between grain yield and number of green leaves (cf. Table 2 and Table 4). 5. Rice plants with high grain yield had more tillerings than those with low grain yield (cf. Table 2 and Table 5). 6. Plant height of rice plant was affected by the tempertaure at vegetative stage only (see Table 6). |
