英文摘要 | This is a second step of the study on the clay mineral of yellowish brown latosols in the northern part of Taiwan 1968. To analyse more about physico-chemical properties and to understand their soil genesis. Four new soil profile samples were collected and their morphology was observed. Items of this experiment consist of soil color, mechanical analysis, real and bulk density, pH value, organic matter, total nitrogen, cation exchange capacity, total analysis of the clay fraction and the whole soils. The results are showing on the table 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8. That may be summarized as follows: 1. The recent climate and the local plantship of the northern part of Taiwan are good for the soil forming proces of limonization, slightly podzolization and laterizaton. It confirms the circumstance of genesis of yellowish brown latosols. Concerning the passive soil forming factors as relief and parent material: The soil development is better on the table land than on the rooling slopping land and it developed from shale is better than that from sandstone. 2. There is no apparent stratification which shows on the nine representative soil profiles. They show yellowish brown in soil color and their color hue is below 10 YR. That confirm the morphology character of the genesis of yellowish brown latosols. 3. All the soils are friable in consistance, no texture B horizone is formed. That shows those soils are different from characteristic of yellow podzolic soils but confirm character of yellowish brown latosols. 4. The chemical properties are presented in table 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8. It looks that there is same general chemical character as in red yellow podzolic soils or latosols, The Sa value of the clay fraction shows the early stage results of laterization. The Fe2O3 content of the clay fraction is over 10%. The results of the total analysis of those whole soils show slightly podzolization. As the development stage is concerned among those 5 soil series. Lung-tan series is the deeper, Kuan-yin series is the next, and the relative leaching stage shows that Lung-tan series is the most biggest, Kaum-yin and Ji-long series are the next, and San-shya series is the last. 5. It was found that muscovite, vermiculite and kaolinite were the dominant clay minerals and gibbsite was present on the lazer occassionally. Base on the results which were studied last year. The weathering degree of those soils are variant: The Lung-tan and Kaun-yin series derived from diluvial deposite on the table land show deep weathering, the San-shya and Ji-long series dervied from shale on the rolling hill show light weathering and the Ney-hwu series derived from sandstone show the youngest one. 6. From the above results, it is concluded that all the represntative soil profile present yellowish brown in color, no apparent stratification differntiation is present, their physico-chemical properties confirm major characters of yelowish brown latosols, and show the early stage result of laterization. Soil formation of this study shows apparent limonization and slightly podzolization, it confirms hte circumstance of the genesis of yellowish brown lotosols also. The Lun-tan series shows deep development, Kaun-yin series shows the next, Ji-long and San-shya series show the third and Ney-hwu series shows the last. It shows that the study on the physicochemical properties confirms the study on the clay mineral. |
