| 英文摘要 | Objective: The objective of this study was to measure the concentration of nine heavy metals in fetal cells, the urine and amniotic fluid from pregnant women. Methods: All specimens were analyzed using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). Results: Urinary arsenic levels correlated with that in amniotic fluid samples and fetal cells (r=0.430, r=0.524, respectively). Urinary levels of chromium, copper and mercury correlated significantly with those found in amniotic fluid (r=0.705, r=0.502, r=0.550). Nickel levels in fetal cells correlated significantly with maternal urinary nickel levels (r=0.517). Concentrations of arsenic, cadmium, chromium, nickel, lead, selenium, copper/zinc and copper/selenium were greater in specimens from pregnant women exposed to environmental tobacco smoke (ETS) in their home and/or workplace. Conclusion: Heavy metals can be demonstrated in the bodies of pregnant women, and exposure to environmental tobacco smoke bears an important correlation to this. Transportation of these metals into fetuses may occur, either via the placenta or umbilicus. |
