HCP 組生 長期血液 BUN(blood urea nitrogen)和 GLU(glucose)濃度較 LCP 組顯著為高,ALP(alkaline phosphatase)濃度(P < 0.05)則較低,肥育期 HCP 組與 LCP 組間各項血液參數皆無顯著 差異。 |
| 英文摘要 | In this study, a total of 448 grower-finisher pigs with an average body weight of about 39 kg were raised in a wet-pad cooling system pig house and evenly divided into 16 pens according to breed compositions. The experiment adopted a 2×2 two factor, that 224 pigs from each of the two breed compositions (LYD group and LD group) were evenly divided into 8 pens each feeding for the high crude protein (HCP group) and low crude protein diets (LCP group; the crude protein content of the diet was reduced by 3% and essential amino acids were added). During the experiment, diet and drinking water were given ad libitum. The growth experiment was terminated when the average weight of the pigs was about 120 kg. The effects of diet and breed compositions on the growth performance, blood parameters and carcass characteristics of grower-finisher pigs were investigated. The results showed that there were no significant differences in daily weight gain (ADG) and feed efficiency (FE) between the HCP group and the LCP group during the overall experimental period. The total feed cost (P < 0.001) and feed cost per kilogram of weight gain (P < 0.05) of the HCP group were higher than those of the LCP group. The feed cost per kilogram of weight gain of pigs in the LCP group (HCP vs. LCP = 39.4 vs. 37.7 NTD) was saved about 4.31% compared with the HCP group, while the FE of the LYD group was better than that of the LD group (P < 0.01). The blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and glucose concentrations in serum of the HCP group were significantly higher than those in the LCP group during the grower stage, while the alkaline phosphatase concentration was lower (P < 0.05). There were no significant differences in blood parameters between the HCP group and the LCP group during the finisher stage. The total protein concentration of the LYD group were higher than those of the LD group during both the grower stage (P < 0.05) and the finisher stage (P < 0.01), and the BUN concentration during the grower stage also significantly higher than that of the LD group. There were no significant differences in carcass characteristics between the HCP group and the LCP group. The rib number (P < 0.001) and length (P < 0.01) of the left carcass of the LD group were significantly more and longer than those the LYD group, the backfat was thinner (P < 0.01), and the lean percentage also higher (P < 0.1) than that of the LYD group. In conclusion, there was no significant difference in growth performance and carcass characteristics between pigs fed HCP and LCP diets. The growth performance of the LYD group was better than that of the LD group, but the carcass characteristics were worse than those of the LD group. The growth of the LD group is slower than that of the LYD group. However, most of the pigs are currently sold through the auction markets, while underwriters prefer pigs with better carcass traits. This may be the reason why some domestic pig farms are willing to produce LD pigs. |
