| 英文摘要 | This study explores the educational strategies and practical experiences of landscape architecture and horticulture in the University Social Responsibility (USR) program in Taiwan. Since 2018, the Ministry of Education has promoted USR to encourage universities to respond to societal needs through professional expertise, curriculum design, and interdisciplinary collaboration. This paper first examines how the characteristics of landscape and horticulture correspond to the six USR themes, and then outlines the professional engagement process, including initial motivation, community needs assessment, and curriculum integration. It further highlights the dual-core practices of "smart agriculture" and "nature-based healing" through first-year outcomes: unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) spraying services for farmers, UAV training courses for students, residents, and even high school participants, community herbal sachet workshops, and the campus-based "Healing Table Competition." These cases demonstrate multi-layered practices from farmland to community culture and campus education. Finally, the paper discusses the rationale for introducing Social Return on Investment (SROI) into USR evaluation, emphasizing its capacity to transform intangible social and educational values into measurable indicators. The findings suggest that landscape and horticulture disciplines play dual roles in professional engagement and talent cultivation within USR, and that empathy and social responsibility are crucial in fostering an educational model characterized by "professional practice × pedagogical innovation × social co-creation." |
