| 英文摘要 | "Contemporary landscape design is no longer an accessory to architecture but an essential element in shaping urban spatial experience." Over the past two decades, the relationship between architecture and landscape in Taiwan has undergone significant transformation. From the 1999 Chi-Chi earthquake to the challenges of climate change in the 21st century, and most recently the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, these events have shaped humanity's ongoing search for coexistence with nature. Each has marked a turning point in both the tangible and intangible aspects of urban environments, driving urban design toward greater sustainability and flexibility. During this process, local governments have also played a key role in advancing sustainability. For example, in 2019 the Taichung City Government introduced the "Livable City Ordinance," which encourages the incorporation of vertical greening, multi-level terraces, and double-layered shading walls. These design strategies extend greenery into architectural fabric while balancing public accessibility and sustainable development. The following discussion explores how Taiwan's construction and design fields have adapted to dramatic shifts in the broader environment and gradually moved toward the vision of a livable city. By examining both domestic and international case studies, it illustrates how architecture and landscape design have increasingly intertwined, transforming into the structural framework and living tissue of the city. This evolution has guided Taiwan's architecture toward urban spaces that are more natural, human-centered, and full of vitality. |
