| 英文摘要 | Diabetic foot ulcer is a common complication in diabetics and patients with wound infection, and amputation is frequently performed as a solution in clinical practice, which is accompanied by an immense healthcare resource burden. This project aimed to promote the practice of foot care among diabetics in order to help reduce the incidence of foot ulcer. Our unit reviewed the literature and designed the "diabetic foot care checklist" as a tool to assist in understanding the current status of foot care among patients. We found that the level of effective diabetic foot care was only 38%. The tool suggested a number of reasons for this rate including: patients had not receive health education on diabetic foot care; did not realize the seriousness of diabetic foot; had blurred vision and could not see clearly; and forgot diabetic foot care contents. The target of this project was to increase the accuracy to 68%. To achieve this target, we implemented the following solutions: 1) a seminar on diabetic foot care, 2) diabetic foot care standards, 3) experience sharing sheets, 4) health and education leaflets, 5) experiential learning methods, and 6) the daily foot care checklist. After execution, the accuracy for diabetic foot care rose to 87.6%. We hope that this project can improve the quality of diabetic foot care practiced by patients. |
