| 英文摘要 | Over the past century, many seals from the Warring States period have been uncovered through archeological excavations. Their number and quality greatly expand the frame of academic reference and continue to inspire deeper exploration of related subjects. A solid research base has now been established for dating the seals, identifying regional styles, and analyzing designs and script changes, greatly improving overall understanding of ancient seals. This accumulation of knowledge has not only constructed a cultural context through which to view these seals, but has also exerted a subtle and lasting influence on contemporary seal aesthetics and creative practices. The refinement and changes inspired by the seal styles of the Warring States period have become a significant theme in contemporary seal carving. This article analyzes how modern and contemporary artists copy, learn from, and create works inspired by Warring States seals. It looks at how these artists transition from imitation to innovation, reinterpreting the seals and giving new life to their forms and conceits. These artists extract shapes, symbols, and spirit from the past, and transform them into visually and conceptually resonant artistic expressions with contemporary expressiveness. By tracing their transformation from“emulating the old”to“innovating the new,”this study explores how today's seal artists reinterpret ancient seals while bridging tradition and modern contexts, extracting classic symbols and sensibilities to forge a modern visual language with intellectual tension. |
