| 英文摘要 | This study aimed to investigate the current status of participation motivation and course satisfaction among students of the Army Academy of the Republic of China in swimming courses, and to further analyze the relationship between the two variables, providing a reference for the planning and instructional improvement of swimming courses in military academies. The research population comprised students registered at the Army Academy in the 2024 academic year. A stratified random sampling method was adopted for the questionnaire survey. According to Chiu (2004), when the research population exhibits a high degree of homogeneity (e.g., cadet samples), a sample size between 100 and 200 is acceptable for factor analysis. The formal survey was conducted from April 7 to April 11, 2025, with a total of 270 questionnaires distributed and collected, achieving a 100% return rate. After eliminating invalid responses, 264 valid questionnaires remained, yielding a valid return rate of 97.8%. Data analysis methods included descriptive statistics, independent-samples t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson product-moment correlation, with the significance level set at α = .05. The research findings were as follows: (1) In terms of differences in the motivation of different subjects to participate in swimming courses, general students are higher than military students, and participating in extracurricular practice is significantly higher than non-participants. (2) In terms of differences in swimming satisfaction among different subjects, participating in extracurricular practice is significantly higher than that of non-participants, and swimming ability of 101 meters or more is significantly higher than that of subjects below 15 meters.(3) Correlation Between Participation Motivation and Satisfaction: Significant positive correlations were found between the participation motivation dimensions ("Physical Health," "Interpersonal Relationships," and "Achievement Challenge") and the satisfaction dimensions ("Facilities," "School Administration," "Course Content," and "Peer Relationships"). Correlation coefficients ranged from 0.619 to 0.728, indicating a moderate to high level of correlation. This result suggests that the higher the participation motivation, the stronger the perceived satisfaction among cadets. Based on the research findings, it is recommended that military academies strengthen health promotion and challenging activities in the design of swimming courses, while improving facilities and school administration, in order to enhance students' learning experience and willingness to re-participate. The results of this study can serve as an important reference for the planning and improvement of physical education courses in military academies. |
