| 英文摘要 | The belief in Mazu is one of the deepest cultural elements of Taiwanese people. Since ancient times, Taiwan and the mainland have been closely connected by history, culture, and kinship. In 1683, during the 22nd year of Emperor Kangxi's reign, the Qing Dynasty unified Taiwan. With the influx of immigrants from Fujian and Guangdong provinces, religious temples and deities were also introduced to the island. Among these, the Mazu faith has the largest number of followers and the greatest influence. Today, there are approximately 800 Mazu temples in Taiwan, with an estimated 16 million followers. Some of the more famous temples include the Beigang Chao Tian Gong, Lukang Tianhou Temple, Dajia Zhenlan Temple, Songshan Ciyu Temple, Tongxiao Gongbei Temple, and Xingang Fengtian Temple. These temples have developed incense offering rituals based on historical and cultural factors, such as the Dajia Mazu circumambulation and the Basha Tun Mazu incense offering. In recent years, the incense offering of the Basha Tun Mazu has gained widespread attention due to its unpredictable route, strong community cohesion, and the pink canopy (known as the' pink supercar'). The purpose of this article is to see the evolution and inheritance of Mazu culture from the belief of the folk society in Taiwan. |
