| 英文摘要 | This study explores the meaning and practice of pre-death farewell ceremonies from the perspective of death education, using the documentary "Walking Together" from Mackay Memorial Hospital's palliative care ward as a case study. The research motivation stems from concerns about death education and observations of contemporary societal attitudes toward life and death. Research objectives include: investigating the connotations of pre-death farewell ceremonies and their significance in death education, analyzing their impact on people's perspectives on life and death and practical challenges, and exploring possibilities for integrating them into death education. Literature review indicates that pre-death farewell ceremonies are an emerging ritual that breaks through traditional death taboos, adopting a proactive approach to life and death. These ceremonies individual not only provide space for terminally ill patients and their families to bid farewell but also embody death education principles such as cherishing life, confront- ing death, and valuing interpersonal relationships. In palliative care, pre-death farewell ceremonies are often combined with the "four life lessons," helping to resolve psychological regrets. Their philosophy helps alleviate fear of death and guides individuals to approach life with an attitude of gratitude and respect. A living funeral are a practice of funeral self- determination that embodies individual will and life's subjectivity. This study employs qualitative research methods, combining literature analysis and in-depth interviews. Interview subjects include college students who view-ed the documentary, palliative care medical staff, and death education scholars. The research design emphasizes the complementarity of literature analysis and in-depth interviews, ensuring data richness through diverse research subjects, and maintaining research quality through rigorous procedures and comprehensive validity and reliability considerations. The study aims to provide a new perspective on death education theory and practice by thoroughly exploring pre-death farewell ceremonies, promoting open societal discussion of life and death issues, and cultivating a more positive attitude toward life. |
