| 英文摘要 | This article examines the “Intergenerational Program” launched by the National Theater and Concert Hall (NTCH, Taiwan) since 2021, exploring how theater fosters the formation of aesthetic communities and enacts theatrical public sphere through crossgenerational participation. The study focuses on two sub-programs, “Intergenerational Creativity” and “Crossroads Theatre: Bridging Generations,” employing qualitative participant observation, interviews, and textual analysis to investigate the interactive processes of non-professional older and younger participants in performing arts workshops and theatergoing activities. Theoretically, this paper integrates Grotowski’s concept of “encounter,” Rancière’s “aesthetic community,” and Balme’s “theatrical public sphere” to construct its analytical framework. The findings reveal that the Intergenerational Program, through embodied practice, issue-based discussion, and improvisational co-creation, facilitates perceptual transformation and emotional connections across generations, breaking through conventional performer-audience relationships and forming temporary communities that treat difference as a resource. Theater thus becomes not only a space for artistic appreciation but also a site for public dialogue and social imagination. The paper further argues that such theatrical practices help expand the social function and cultural equity of contemporary performing arts, offering new perspectives for drama education and applied theater research. |
