| 英文摘要 | This study examines the implementation of Japanese language education as a second foreign language under the 108 Curriculum Guidelines in Taiwanese high schools, focusing on self-directed learning and elective courses and their alignment with student needs. The findings indicate that self-directed learning enhances Japanese proficiency and interest, but a lack of professional teacher guidance and learning resources hinders its effectiveness. Elective courses, while well-received for their flexible teaching methods, reveal students' concerns about the school's commitment to second foreign language education. This study suggests that schools enhance teacher training, optimize learning resources, and strengthen collaborations with Japanese institutions to provide more immersive learning experiences. Additionally, differentiated support, such as certification preparation, interactive teaching, and learning progress monitoring, should be implemented to improve motivation and learning outcomes. |
