| 英文摘要 | How do Japanese native speakers instruct the characters in a story? This study focuses on the impact of the differences between oral and written output, using the corpus(I-JAS) of Japanese native speakers’ story-telling and story-writing as the materials of analysis. After analysis, it was found that the mode of output did not cause any differences in the way Japanese native speakers refer to the main characters and human supporting characters. However, when animal supporting characters serve as the agent of a passive sentence, omission is more likely to occur in spoken language. Overall, supporting characters, regardless of the mode of output, are more likely to use explicit forms of expression. As for the main characters, they are more likely to be omitted in spoken language, while in written language, they tend to be expressed explicitly. One possible reason for this result is that, even when describing the same story events, Japanese native speakers are more likely to adopt the main character's perspective in spoken language, which leads to more omissions compared to written language. |
