| 英文摘要 | Sarcopenia is the progressive decline in skeletal muscle mass and strength that occurs with aging. This process not only directly impacts the mobility of older adults but also significantly increases the risk of falls and reduces their quality of life. Sarcopenia is becoming increasingly prevalent in the elderly population and is closely associated with health issues such as disability, fractures, hospitalization rates, and mortality. Therefore, early identification and effective intervention are crucial in reducing the negative health impacts of muscle loss. This article reviews the diagnostic criteria for sarcopenia and explores current clinical evidence, emphasizing the role of nutritional intervention and exercise training in enhancing muscle mass and strength. Specifically, nutritional intervention, particularly protein intake, has a significant impact on maintaining muscle health. With aging, the efficiency of muscle synthesis declines, thus increasing the protein needs of older adults. Additionally, exercise training, especially resistance training, is critical for improving strength, enhancing muscle function, and increasing quality of life. Effective sarcopenia management strategies should be tailored to individual health conditions, functional levels, and treatment preferences, with ongoing monitoring to ensure therapeutic efficacy and prevent deterioration. Furthermore, proactive education for older adults and their caregivers is essential to help them understand that sarcopenia is preventable and treatable. |
