| 英文摘要 | This article examines labor movement strategies and policy advocacy in Taiwan, using the demands raised during May Day (Labor Day) demonstrations as a starting point. It highlights a shift in Taiwan's labor movement from protest-oriented actions toward institutionalized policy advocacy. This evolution reflects a trend of cross-sector collaboration and increasing policy specificity. The article also draws on strategic experiences from European labor movements to contextualize Taiwan’s labor advocacy within broader global trends. It discusses how labor movements in diverse capitalist systems pursue different institutional adjustments in response to liberalization. Rather than opposing liberalization outright, labor movements engage in a process of negotiation and compromise, learning to navigate within its frameworks. The article suggests that Taiwanese labor movements are cultivating new forms of “solidarity politics.” These emerging alliances seek to influence policy reform and institutional change, positioning labor not only as a force of resistance but also as a key actor in shaping social and economic policy. |
