| 英文摘要 | In secure vehicular communications, several international standard organizations have developed specifications for defining the formats of secure protocol data units (SPDUs) with signatures based on elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) for intelligent transportation system (ITS) messages. For instance, the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) applies the Security Credential Management System (SCMS) defined by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 1609.2-2022 and 1609.2.1-2022 standards to build secure vehicular communications. However, ECC may be vulnerable to attacks by quantum computing (QC). To avoid the attacks from QC, this study applies the post-quantum cryptography (PQC) methods without hidden subgroups to the security of vehicular communications. Due to the mainstream technologies of PQC methods (i.e. lattice-based cryptography methods), the standard digital signature methods including Dilithium and Falcon have been discussed and compared in this study. The signatures can be generated by Dilithium and Falcon and embedded in SPDUs to defend against attacks from QC. Furthermore, this study applies a queueing model to analyze the performance of these standard digital signature methods for selection decision-making. The results show that higher service rates for signature and verification can be achieved with Dilithium in the Java language. Dilithium, as a PQC method, can be applied in SCMS for a wide variety of ITS applications. |
