| 英文摘要 | From November 19, 2022, to February 12, 2023, the Taipei Fine Arts Museum hosted the “Home Pleasure” exhibition by Manbo Key, which focused on the living space of queer individuals in Taiwan. Through videos centering on the themes of home entertainment and intimate relationships, the exhibition conveyed the sexual subjectivity of marginalized queers, showcasing the diverse desires, sexual practices, non-normative erotic practices, and varied life stories of the queer community. It portrayed the diverse facets of queer communities and the societal pressures faced by non-binary gender identities, highlighting not only the survival situations of young queers but also the living conditions of middle-aged and elderly LGBTQ+ individuals, survivors of violence, and LGBTQ+ individuals from other conservative societies. This demonstrates the museum's practice of cultural equity for the queer community. The artist employed self-deconstruction and self-disclosure to respond sharply to contemporary art's status quo, revealing the hidden histories and archives of “queer lives” overlooked by mainstream patriarchal culture. Through various creative practices, the artist facilitated dialogues and brought about understanding between two generations of families. Thus, this study examines how artists practice gender diversity and address social conflicts and coexistence from the perspective of “gender differences.” Drawing on the insights of British museum scholar Richard Sandell, who advocates for the integration of LGBTQ+ issues into museum exhibition planning and emphasizes the urgent need for “transgender public discourse” in museums, while also citing the “queer/ing ethics” perspective proposed by Australian museum scholars Nikki Sullivan and Craig Middleton, this research considers museums a part of social justice, making museums a public domain for communication and dialogue within society. |
