| 英文摘要 | “Temple Tower Records” is one of the chapters in “Youyang Zazu” written by Duan Chengshi of the Tang Dynasty. It mainly records what Duan Chengshi and his colleagues saw and heard when they visited the Chang’an Buddhist Temple. All the time, research on “Temple Pagoda” has mostly been related to mural art, or extended to monks’ image writing, the author’s religious attitude, etc., but rarely touched on the discussion of statue enshrinement. An examination of Duan Chengshi’s descriptions of the statues covers the material-focused worship of the golden body, the focus on miraculous spiritual perceptions, and shows the temple space’s acceptance of statues of different identities. As far as the shaping of the golden body of the Buddha statue is concerned, its significance is not only a symbol of the lofty Dharma, but also a basis for believers’ feedback and repentance, and provides spiritual sustenance through concrete materials.
