| 英文摘要 | In 2019, the approval of the Marriage Equality Act occurred in Taiwan, which made Taiwan the very first country in Asia to defend the equal right of marriage for same sex couples, indicating that gender awareness in Taiwanese society has gradually been rising and that attitudes towards LGBTQ+ communities is becoming more friendly. However, as seen by observing gay wedding photography and the options for the groom's outfit provided by the wedding industry, the suit remains mainstream in the market and male images of different gender expressions lack in variety. This study, via research and design, aims to provide a reimagination of gay men's wedding garments that is different from traditional wedding dresses and suits. This study, through research and design creativity, aims to provide a reimagination of gay's wedding garments that is different from traditional wedding dresses and suits. The market survey is conducted with an internet questionnaire, based on the Bem Sex-Role Inventory (BSRI) as well as components identified in the first stage, which are categorized into six elements (silhouette, fabric, color, suit components, wedding dress components, and accessories). The results indicate Taiwanese gay with different gender expressions have different preferences for "fabric" and "wedding dress components", while they have similar preferences for the other four elements overall. Still, potential preferences could be deduced from the survey results to be used as a reference for the designs in the wedding garment collection. |
