英文摘要 | Asthma is a chronic respiratory disease affecting children and adults globally. Based on current asthma treatment guidelines, physicians may develop a management plan for patients, wherein the correct use of inhaled drugs is of critical importance. while studies have reported that despite patient education, the operational error rate among asthma patients is approximately 59%. Therefore, the objective of the present study was to implement quality development activities to improve the skills of outpatient asthma patients related to the correct usage of inhaled medications. We established a quality control circle (QCC) to collect data, analyze the causes of operational misuse, and formulate countermeasures to improve usage effectiveness. The QCC employed a simple design, primarily focused on developing health education programs, modifying the outpatient health education process, and aggregating structured medical records to facilitate systematic analysis. After implementation of our QCC, the correct usage rate of inhaled medications increased from 64.9% to 98%, while the asthma disease awareness rate increased from 31.8% to 70.2%, and the patient satisfaction rate increased from 80.3% to 100%. The QCC activities we developed here notably enhanced the skills related to the correct usage of inhaled drugs in asthma patients; furthermore ,the disease awareness rate and patient satisfaction rates noted significant improvements. |
