英文摘要 | With globalization and medical advancements prolonging human life, the diversification of adult learning specialties has emerged as a natural trend. Influenced by socio-economic factors and driven by employment, leisure, and personal interests, adults seek to acquire diverse expertise. This study aims to investigate the factors influencing adults' preference for learning popular jazz piano. Drawing upon the Technology Acceptance Model's constructs of perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, social influence, and Davis' framework (1989), subjective norms and perceived enjoyment from the Theory of Reasoned Action (Fishbein and Ajzen, 1975) are incorporated and examined. A total of 311 questionnaires were collected, with 289 deemed valid for analysis. Findings indicate that adults primarily pursue jazz piano for hedonic purposes, aiming to mitigate cognitive decline and enjoy the learning process. Moreover, the influence of the social environment on adult learners' behavioral intentions and decision-making is significant. The hypotheses related to perceived enjoyment, social influence, behavioral intention, and actual use receive validation and support. However, the constructs of perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and subjective norms, despite their theoretical underpinnings, do not find support. It is evident that adult learners acknowledge the ease and utility of learning popular jazz piano, yet they cannot match the natural finger agility and hand-eye coordination of school-aged children. Consequently, this research confirms the predominance of "popular jazz piano" in adult piano learning, while "classical piano" remains the focus for school-aged learners. These findings provide insights and recommendations for music enterprises, educational institutions, and related industries in formulating enrollment strategies and future directions. |
