英文摘要 | The theme of this case focuses on the platform strategy that "Giant Power Moving Company"should adopt while facing many threats from competitors. “Giant Power Moving Company” is the first moving company to apply for the "Go Incubation Board for Startup and Acceleration Firms" (GISA) in Taipei Exchange (TPEx) successfully. For now, it encounters many competitors including those are companies in a moving ecosystem from different industries, and an on-demand delivery platform that might meet the definition of a “disruptive innovation” company. The platform economy has become one of the mainstreams of modern business models. Due to the huge business opportunities, many platform companies have sprung up like mushrooms. However, there are far more losers than winners. Therefore, the challenges of running a platform business should be enormous. Through the discussions of the decision on whether Giant Power moving company transform itself into a platform enterprise and what role “Giant Power Moving Company” plays on the platform, it can bring relevant knowledge of the platform economy to students, such as understanding the threat brought by destructive innovation, the value chain model between the traditional moving industry and platform enterprises, and the network effects of the successful platform business. |
