中文摘要 | 曾有學者指出,科學文盲對於我們這個時代的威脅,遠比過去任何一個時代來得嚴重。因此,透過科普讀物拉近一般民眾與科學之間的距離就成了最迫切的需求。臺灣科普出版從轉載國外期刊論、翻譯國外科普書籍,到發行繁體中文版,外在似乎是呈現一片欣欣向榮,內在卻有著許多隱憂。科學普及指的是傳播者將簡化的科學知識,以不同方式,並藉由不同的媒體,傳達給所設定之閱聽眾的過程。臺灣的「科學普及運動」有過三波巨大的浪潮,並自一九九八年開始隱然有第四波的浪潮正在高起,今年(2002年)遠流推出《科學人》可說是第四波浪潮的一個開端。臺灣現階段科普出版的困境概分為以下四個方面:科普寫作、科學傳播、科普本土化以及翻譯問題。現階段當務之急的科普工作,是重新定位,走向分齡分眾、傳播媒體共同推廣科普、重視翻譯與編輯人材才培養、以及朝向多元他、國際化經營,期待因為有這麼多人為科普園地貢獻心力,能夠讓國人對科學性的知識產生共鳴,達到「人人都是科學人」,國家才有競爭力。 |
英文摘要 | Once a scholar pointed out that the threat at scientific illiteracy upon our era is far graver than any other century. Thus, reading scientific-popular books to shorten the distance between people and science becomes the most urgent need. The publish of scientific-popular of Taiwan used to be done by trnascripting papers of foreign journals or translating foreign scientific-popular books, and until now we publish we Chinese edition. All these seem prosperous, but yet there are still many problems within. Taiwan’s “Science popularized movement” had been through three gigantic waves, and more over, the fourth tidal wave has rised since 1998! Taiwan’s present stage of phase scientific-popular publish difficult situation are the following four aspects: Scientific writing, scientific broadcasting, scientific-popular localization and translating problem. The most urgent science popularization works are: to reorient toward aged-segregated and people-segregated; for broadcasting media to jointly promote science popularization; by pay attention to cultivation of translation and editorial talented people; and to move toward to multi-diversed, internationalized management. Hopefully by all these dedications, our people could generate echo on scientific knowledge and turns out everyone is a “scientific person.” |
