英文摘要 | Proper use of inhalants is strongly associated with disease control and efficacy. As different inhalation devices require largely different techniques of use, the nontrained switch of device in COPD and asthma patients may be associated with a poor inhalation technique and, consequently, with a reduction of adherence and worsening in pathology control. The project was intended to improve the accuracy of inhaler device handling in patient with new delivery devices (Spiriva Respimat™ Soft Mist Inhaler and Onbrez Breezhaler™) from September 2015 to February 2016 using quality control tools. The resolution included the key steps of inhaler devices, training and assessment in pharmacist technique, make evaluation forms, and standardizing the workflow. A total of 40 patients were enrolled in our study from November 2015 to February 2016. After this improvement, the accuracy of inhaler device handling elevated from 50% to 100%. Growth rate in Spiriva Respimat™ Soft Mist Inhaler and Onbrez Breezhaler™ is 139% and 73%. The project not only ensures the medication safety but also elevates the quality of pharmaceutical care in patients with COPD and asthma. |
