| 英文摘要 | The contemporary writer Shi Tiesheng (1951-2010) in China went and worked in the rural area during the Cultural Revolution campaigns; however, he returned back to Beijing in 1971 because of an illness. When he was 22, he was diagnosed with paraplegia. In 1979, he began publishing literary works, and he was famous for his profound writing about deformity throughout his literary life. As can be seen from his writing course, Shi Tiesheng, in the mid or late 1980's, wrote a number of novels such as Life on Strings and Dance of Life. This symbolizes the transition in and the deepening of the mediation on deformity. This essay, building on this transition, aims to explore how Shi Tiesheng discusses the relationship between people, reality and fate through coincidence and suffering, deformity and love as well as life and death. Generally speaking, Shi Tiesheng claims that life itself is "deformed", but people need to give recognition continuously to the concept of life as a spiritual "course" |
