中文摘要 | 本病例報告使用聚醚醚酮(Poly-ether-ether-ketone, PEEK, BioHPP)做為全口覆蓋式義齒的主要材料。此高性能聚合物(ceramic-reinforced high performance polymer)應用於醫療領域已有超過20年的歷史,近幾年大量引進做為牙科用途。案例中的患者是一位70歲女性,顎間空間小且咬合成對數不佳,因鼻咽癌接受放射線治療後患有口乾症,病患選擇以覆蓋式義齒進行全口重建。由於口水量減少,影響了口腔健康且降低義齒的固持性。聚醚醚酮具有高生物相容性且不易堆積牙菌斑。其質輕及良好的物理性質使配戴者更舒適、固持性更佳。能利用電腦輔助設計及製作(Computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing, CAD/CAM),相對節省時間。白色的外觀用於補綴用途更為廣泛。此材料因能與熱塑性樹脂有良好的結合,將來義齒若需要重新墊底,亦操作便利。病患相當滿意這副假牙,追蹤至今反應十分良好。 |
英文摘要 | This case report presents a poly-ether-ether-ketone (PEEK, BioHPP) as an alternative material for the fabrication of overdentures. This high performance polymer has been used for more than 20 years in medical technology, and recently is introduced in dentistry. We describe a 70-year-old female who had xerostomia post radiotherapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma, and the patient preferred overdentures for full mouth rehabilitation. The decrease in the amount of saliva can affect oral health and reduce denture retention. BioHPP presents high biocompatibility and low plaque affinity. Its low specific weight and good mechanical property permit lighter prostheses providing high patient satisfaction and better retention. The frameworks can be constructed via CAD/ CAM manufacturing, and that saves much lab time. The white color of BioHPP is suitable for restoration. This type of restoration could be easily relined if resorption occurs since conventional heat-cured acrylic resin is used as a denture base material. The patient was satisfied with the denture, and the follow-up condition was good and stable. |
