英文摘要 | Deteriorations in renal function would be accompanied by more severe anemia in patients with chronic kidney disease. Anemia would reduce quality of life and increase the rate of hospitalization and mortality. The causes of anemia include reduced production of erythropoietin (EPO), shortened erythrocyte survival, increased blood loss, and inflammation. The management strategies of anemia includes injection of erythropoietin, oral or IV administering of iron, supplement vitamin (vitamin B12 and folic acid), and sufficient nutrition. Anemia patients are recommended to intake moderate amount of food with rich heme iron such as red meat, animal viscera, or clams. Vegetables and fruits are not good sources of iron. The diet needs to be healthy and balanced to provide sufficient energy and protein. |
