中文摘要 | 黏度指數增進劑的作用為增進潤滑油的流變性能,在車用機油配方中加入黏度指數增進劑,不但可於高溫時增進黏度以支持油膜厚度,亦可以搭配輕質基礎油於低溫時具有較低的黏度,因此被廣泛應用於複級機油中。由於較低廉的價格與較優的增黏效率,聚烯烴共聚物佔據了黏度指數增進劑的市場主導地位。本文介紹了黏度指數增進劑的機制,以及聚烯烴共聚物的化學組成對其物理特性與低溫、高溫黏度及配方性能的影響。聚烯烴共聚物一般由乙烯與丙烯單體聚合形成,使用具高乙烯含量的聚烯烴型黏度指數增進劑具有良好的低溫黏度性能,但亦可能與機油中的其他成份協同產生可阻礙流動的蠟質網路,因而須慎選適當的流動點下降劑以符合SAE J300黏度等級規範。 |
英文摘要 | The function of viscosity index improver(VII) is to enhance the rheological properties of lubricants. With the addition of viscosity index improver in the engine oil formulation of vehicles, not only the high temperature viscosity is enhanced to maintain the oil film thickness, but also the viscosity will be lowered by coordinating with light base oil at low temperature. Therefore, the VII is widely prevailed in multi-grade engine oil products. Due to the lower cost and better thickening efficiency, olefin copolymer has dominated the market of viscosity index improver. In this survey, the working mechanism of VII and the influences on physical properties, low and high temperature viscosities and formulation performance by olefin copolymer chemical composition are introduced. Olefin copolymer is generally polymerized with ethylene and propylene monomers. Use of high ethylene content olefin copolymer VII has better low temperature performance, but it also has possibility to synergize with other components in engine oil and forms waxy network that hinders flow. As a result, in order to meet the SAE J300 viscosity grade requirement, the selection of suitable pour point depressant is important. |
