英文摘要 | Mountain wetlands are precious resources for conservation of plant diversity, because they offer environments for those specific habitat-demanding aquatic plants. However, mountain wetlands are usually overlooked, because there is a lack of complete survey and an objective assessment of conservation level. In this study, field surveys of aquatic plants at 30 mountain wetlands in the NE Taiwan were adequately carried on to map hotspots and thereby help planning conservation strategy. In total 61 native aquatic vascular plants are recorded from 30 studied wetlands, of which 18 species were classified as rare species and 1 species were endemic to Taiwan. We first combined three parameters (including species richness, endemism, rarity) of aquatic plants to calculate the hotspot index per wetlands. In case the conservation fund is limited, hotspot index would effective screen for minimum number of wetlands while providing the maximum species richness, endemism, and rarity. |
