| 英文摘要 | "The Republic of Wine" is one of important novels of Mo Yan’s. The paper tries to explore its innovative approach by focusing on epistolary. First, comparing novels written with epistolary in eastern culture and ones in western culture, we can discover that "The Republic of Wine" uses the first-person penetrating epistolary. Which is different from women’s sorrows in the epistolary in eastern culture or male writer’s onomatopoeic themes of love. "The Republic of Wine" discusses social issues then, and implicitly, ironically expresses the madness after releasing in the mainland China. The paper discusses not only multi-layered meanings but the method how Mo Yan used. He formed "The Republic of Wine" a narrative track with the plot, characters, and experiences of time and space, and he displayed his mature skills of epistolary. The three parallel narrative clues in "The Republic of Wine" created multiple perspectives, flexibly switched the grammatical persons. Finally, the paper attributes that the make-up persons like "Mo Yan" and "Lee Doo" in the letters actually expanded imaginations to link a number of pieces of plot, leading the readers to find the writer’s ironic metaphors to the society in the mainland China then. |
