英文摘要 | “More Chinese” was the common proposition in the 1920 ’s, when the Chinese Christian education sector responded to internal and external challenges. Under the joint efforts of all parties in 1925, the Northern Warlords Government promulgated the “Regulations of the Ministry of Education for the Recognition of Mission Schools ”, marking the Chinese Christian Education having officially won the status of a private school in the national education system. However, the “measures” about some religion clauses caused great controversy in the Chinese Christian education sector. As the general coordination mechanism of Chinese Christian education, the China Christian Education Association had been involved from the beginning. They strived for the status of private school and for a position in the religious education sector and had ongoing negotiations with the government, resulting in the achievement of limited “more Chinese” after the government’s “explanation”. The measures of the promulgation and the negotiation process showed the dispute between “more Chinese” and “more Christian”, which affected the future of Chinese Christian Education. |
