| 英文摘要 | Macau, with its unique cultural and geographic position, has been a link between the eastern and western civilisations and cultures since its inauguration in the middle of the 16th century. From 16th to 18th centuries, Catholic music of Macau gradually formed its own unique characteristics, which has become an important intangible heritage that influences the development process of both Chinese and western music. Innovations were witness in Macau’s Catholic music in the 19th century, while diversification emerged from the 20th century onwards. Dai Dingcheng’s book Macau Catholic Music in the 20th Century provides a new conception and thorough analysis on the subject, and fully demonstrates the landscape and aesthetic taste of cultural creations of the genre. The book symbolises a new height on local music studies. |
