中文摘要 | 近代中國佛教俗世化運動,是佛教因應時代環境,求革新、求進步,與現代化同步的全面性、長期性的運動。本論文從經藏傳播現代化、僧伽教育學院化、佛學研究學術化等三個角度,論述其內涵、影響與成果。並認定這三大方向是整個佛教俗世化運動的核心,因這三個方向的堅實發展,確保了佛教俗世化運動不至於淪為庸俗與迷信。檢視經藏傳播現代化、僧伽教育學院化、佛學研究學術化的實際成果,得以觀察中國大陸與臺灣的相續關係,以及臺灣如何以開放的態度,通過本土實踐,成為中國佛教俗世化運動的主脈。 |
英文摘要 | The modern secularization movement of Chinese Buddhism is tightly coupled with the rapid change of the society. It is synchronized with the adaptive and progressive modernization of the Chinese society and is a comprehensive and long-term movement. Three main perspectives are identified to describe this movement: the modernization of the spreading of the Buddhism Text, the institutionalization of the sangha education, and the Buddhism research in academic. The content, influence and results of this movement are all described based upon these three perspectives. This paper thinks that these three perspectives form the core of the secularization movement. The solid developments in these three perspectives protects the secularization movement from vulgar and superstition. By examining the results of the movement in three perspectives, the continuity between Mainland and Taiwan can be clearly observed. The openness and the grassroots practice in Taiwan make Taiwan the mainstream of the modern Chinese Buddhism secularization movement. |
