| 中文摘要 | 發光二極體 (LED)驅動電路為實現可見光通訊系統之一關鍵零組件,主要的挑戰在於如何在高速資料傳輸的同時維持 LED固態照明的高效率需求。本論文提出一個結合 LED固態照明與可見光通訊技術的白光二極體驅動器,並可支援正交頻分複用技術 (OFDM)之資料調變格式。此電路架構採用線性電流調節,並整合直流照明驅動與交流資料信號來控制單一功率元件,以達到高速、高效率及高整合度之目的。本論文提出一降阻技術以提高驅動器控制迴路之電性頻寬,並於驅動器前端使用一階 RC前置信號等化器補償發光二極體電光轉換之頻寬限制,以提升整體可見光通訊系統的電光轉換 (E/O/E)頻寬。此驅動控制晶片實現在 0.5微米高壓製程上,晶片面積為 1540um*1250um,使用標準 SOP-16封裝,量測結果顯示 LED驅動電流在 350mA時,光調變頻寬達到 10.9MHz,搭配正交頻分複用技術之資料調變格式實際資料傳輸率達 50Mb/s。 |
| 英文摘要 | The Light-Emitting Diode (LED) driver is an important part of Visible Light Communication (VLC) systems. The main challenge of the VLC LED driver is to offer a high data transmission rate with high power efficiency. This paper presents the design of a white light LED driver that combines the LED lighting with VLC technology. The proposed LED driver uses linear current regulation and controls the AC current signal and the DC current through a single power device for the purposes of high speed, high efficiency and high integration. It also can support the modulation format of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM). In addition, this paper presents an impedance reduction technique to enhance the bandwidth of the LED driver. And a first-order pre-equalizer is utilized to enhance the electron-optical-electron (E/O/E) bandwidth in the VLC system due to the bandwidth limitation of the phosphor LED. The VLC LED driver is fabricated in a standard 0.5um CMOS technology and the area is 1540um*1250um. It is available in a standard SOP-16 pin package. The experimental results show that the optical modulation bandwidth of 10.9MHz has been achieved with the forward biased LED current of 350mA. By using the OFDM data modulation scheme, the data rate of 50Mb/s is demonstrated. |
